EARLY KINDERGARTEN {TK} PROGRAM

(4-YEARS BY SEPT. 1)
Kinder-Prep Website Final

Our Early Kindergarten {TK} Program is the heartbeat of Pacific Prep School’s mission to “Prepare Children for Kindergarten and Beyond!” For children 4-years old by September 1, this program provides a comprehensive learning experience that builds on the foundation of skills developed in our preceding Kinder-Prep Program. Your child’s Early Kindergarten {TK} year continues to provide individualized learning opportunities for future school success, starting with Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade! The benefits of a small class-size, in a classroom environment intentionally prepared to maximize your child’s learning, led by a qualified teacher who is trained in Early Childhood Education, provides an experience that supports and reinforces the connections that are critical to your child’s educational success.

This Program focuses on the continuing development of Kindergarten Readiness Skills at your child’s individual level. Your child will be assessed over a 6–8 week period (August thru October) on all Kindergarten Readiness Skills: Socio-emotional, Fine Motor, Writing/Visual Perception, Language Development, Pre-Reading/Comprehension & Decoding, Mathematics/Number Sense, Mathematics/Functions-Measurement Geometry- Reasoning, and Large Motor. Based on this assessment, individual goals will be set for your child, depending upon their age, developmental level, and learning style. The Classroom Teacher supports each student by using small group time, individualized/1-on-1 instruction, strategic materials, and creative planning.

There are a maximum of 16 children in each Early Kindergarten {TK} classroom with 2 full-time teachers. The ratio is approximately 1 teacher for 8 students. This program is offered Mon-Fri from 8:30-12:30pm. Children can be enrolled for 2-days, 3-days, or 5-days per week. However, we recommend a 5-day per week schedule to ensure the opportunity for mastering these critical foundational skills. We also offer an Afternoon Enrichment Program where children experience additional curriculum and learning opportunities into the afternoon.
